The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, the company's newest premium model, has surpassed the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ to become the current number one smartphone in the DxOMark camera rankings. The Mi-series phone has a “pro-grade” camera setup on the rear, with a huge 50-megapixel Samsung GN2 primary sensor. According to DxOMark, the flagship camera sensor is similar to Sony's RX cameras' conventional 1-inch sensor. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra also scored a perfect 100 in the zoom test. It's slightly better than the iPhone 12 Pro Max's 68 points and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G's 76 points.
While DxOMark has yet to release its comprehensive Mi 11 Ultra camera analysis, it has shared some scores highlighting the new smartphone's image-taking and video-recording capabilities.
DxOMark reviewers were also impressed by the Mi 11 Ultra's 5x optical zoom periscope lens, which also supports 120x digital zoom and 10x hybrid zoom. The phone won 131 points for its telephoto capabilities in particular.
The video recording section of the Mi 11 Ultra earned 105 points for colors and 103 points for exposure, according to DxOMark. Its 117 points for video recording performance beats out the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Huawei Mate 40 Pro+, which earned 116 and 115 points, respectively, from DxOMark.
The Mi 11 Ultra will switch between 60fps and 30fps frame rates in 4K to achieve the best possible video quality. To entice smartphone photographers, there is also a brand-new HDR mode implementation.
The Mi 11 Ultra is available in both China and the rest of the world, starting at Rs. 67,000 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and a 2K WQHD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED camera. It also has a secondary 1.1-inch AMOLED monitor on the rear, which can be used to take selfies and make video calls.
